Clearance: Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.  Works individually or as part of a team.  Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results.  Resolves software problem reports.  Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.  Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE in contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.  OR  Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
  • Knowledge of Cloud procedures and data ingest
  • One (1) year of experience in programming in at least two (2) of the following: C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, XML, Unix, Linux, Sybase, and Oracle (1 year experience applicable for each technology listed).

Desired skills:

  • One (1) year of experience with at least three (3) of the following: MapReduce, key-value store technology, HBase/Hadoop, Apache, Accumulo (1-year requirement applicable to each individual technology required).
  • Experience in Distillery/IBM Streams Framework, NiagaraFiles and/or Scripting languages.
