Clearance: The majority of positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

Chinese or Korean experience is a big plus, but we are always expanding language capability and are able to accommodate many other language skillsets. This is your chance to get in you great candidates of any experience level. 

The Language Technologist processes and maintains language artifacts (i.e. lexicons, term bases, word nets, taxonomies, ontologies). Applies analytic techniques to improve performance of assigned lexicons. Leverages understanding of linguistics and assigned language to improve machine translation performance. Prepares test cases to assure proper performance. Collects corpora and evaluates performance of language identification modules.

Qualifications

Shall have seven (7) years of experience working in the target language; Four (4) years of experience in lexicography; Level 2+ language skills or equivalent in at least one foreign language. Shall have language-specific knowledge of morphology, syntax and grammar and at least four (4) years of experience applying this knowledge to create and improve models. Shall have experience in using scripting languages for the processing of language resources; Experience with international encodings, to include converting and handling multilingual encoding, such as UTF-8; Experience with lexical and terminological data structures and relevant standards. Shall have strong analytic skills and demonstrated experience using information technology. Shall have a solid background in English grammar and excellent oral and written communication skills. Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, computer science, or a language is required.
