Everwatch Solutions is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist/Engineer to join our team as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to maintain the operational security posture of Air Force and National Agency intelligence systems. You will be working with a well-established team supporting 20+ systems. This effort provides centralized support to secure systems across multiple locations to ensure continuous operations and availability. As an ISSO on this team, you will provide customer support to maintain system security plans, support continuous monitoring, ensure vulnerability notification awareness and response tracking, review security and event logs, update and track system compliance objectives, and ensure all system and security documentation remains current and relevant. The ideal candidate has experience working with Xacta or a similar system security and compliance tool, familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), knowledge of security controls and responses, knowledge of security vulnerability and mitigation processes, ability to interpret security concepts of operations, experience supporting compliance inspections, and ability to author and edit system documentation to ensure security and compliance are properly addressed.

• 5+ years of experience in contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information technology, or related discipline from an accredited college or university and recent experience with administration of Linux-based systems and workstations
• In lieu of degree, 12+ years of experience in the field of computer system administration and recent experience with administration of Linux-based systems and workstations
• Security+ or higher DoD 8570 certification
• Provide System Administration and sustainment support to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) mission systems, workstations, and associated infrastructure
• Experience providing help desk and sustainment support for Linux systems and workstations
• Familiarity with trouble ticket reporting systems like JIRA and/or SERENA
• Understanding of cyber security tools and methods
• Install, integrate, test, and validate operating system and application updates and patches including operating system vulnerability patches
• Configure and manage RHEL operating systems; troubleshoot and maintain system integrity along with implementing operating system updates and vulnerability patches to improve reliability and performance
• Provide support to IT system end users to ensure accessibility and availability for continuous operations
• Utilize monitoring and alerting services to identify issues, enable troubleshooting, and ensure successful resolution
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
• Coordinate with customers, create and respond to trouble tickets, and document issues and solutions in issue tracking system
• Knowledge and understanding of System Administration interdependencies specific to RHEL systems and workstations including Linux frameworks and GNOME desktop
• Knowledge and understanding of remote access and administration of deployed systems
• Knowledge and experience with system security hardening and IAVA/CVE patching for Linux systems and workstations
• Knowledge of Puppet and experience building and modifying puppet modules
• Knowledge of Ansible and experience building and modifying playbooks
• Experience updating, testing, and validating changes to system PXE Boot, Kickstart, and YUM repo based on updates and patches
• Experience using health and status monitoring software; Nagios preferred
• Familiarity with RHEL subscription manager

• Associate’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, information technology, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
• In lieu of degree, 7+ of experience in the field of cyber security and/or information assurance
• Security+ or higher DoD 8570 certification
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Develop and implement information assurance/security standards and procedures
• Evaluate security programs and ensure control compliance items meet minimum standards
• Recommend information assurance/security solutions to support customer requirements
• Identify, report, and resolve security violations
• Establish and satisfy information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands
• Support customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies
• Analyze and define security requirements for Linux/RedHat-based information systems
• Perform and review vulnerability/risk analyses of information systems and applications
• Ensure information systems are functional, secure, and compliant with all guidance
• Support continuous monitoring of information system technical controls as part of customer continuous monitoring programs
• Update and maintain system security plans in Xacta following the RMF process
• Assist Security Control Assessors (SCAs) when examining information systems
• Provide responses and updates to Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), Risk Mitigation Worksheets, and system security documentation
• Knowledge of NIST special publications, including 800 series, FIPS 199, 140-2, the full RMF process, Risk Analysis, and Vulnerability Management
• Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance and Cybersecurity practices and procedures, including DIACAP and RMF and DoD policy and guidance, such as DoDI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-53, and CNSSI 1253
